Welcome to September ...

Something a little exciting is happening in September! We are doing a combined challenge with Soul Scrappers Challenges, which means you do the one layout upload here and over in their monthly album and have two chances to win!

Please use TWO of the colour options of  APRICOT / TEAL / HOT PINK / GREEN on a WHITE background to create your layout using elements from the moodboard as inspiration.

Our additional criteria is FLOWERS so don’t forget to include some on your layout.

Your inspiration could be a shape or pattern, theme or items contained with in it. You might like a particular element or use of background. You can use black (or navy/ dark brown or a little gold/silver) as an accent colour only. Please don’t forget to tell us what inspired you and pop over to Soul Scrappers to add your layout to the album there.

  Please welcome our August guest designer, Jackie Edwards with her wonderful take on our challenge this month.

Burgundy with flowers

Hi!  My name is Jackie Edwards and I live in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in the UK.

 I am a widow but have a wonderful daughter and three beautiful grandchildren who are mostly the subjects of my layouts. 

 I have been scrapping for over twenty years now. I discovered scrapbooking when I was on holiday in America, and started when my first Grandchild was about a year old and my style has changed many times over the years.  I am very lucky to have my own craft room and because I am now retired, I can scrap all day and not have to clear everything away!

 

I have always been involved with craft in some form – sewing, cross-stitch, cards, altered art and mixed media but seem to return to scrapbooking every time.  My best buy many years ago was a Craft Robo, and I have a Cameo too now which means I can now cut 12x12 and titles etc and not buy alphas (although that is hard and I am often tempted)  !!

I very much enjoy entering challenges because they give me the starting point for a layout, whether it’s a sketch or other criteria……..although the end result doesn’t always reflect the original design or intention! LOL

 

I don’t know what I would do now if I didn’t scrap!!!

 

I was very pleased to be asked to be GD this month and hope that my layout might give you some inspiration for this month's challenge!

Welcome to August ...

 Welcome to our August challenge, it was such fun seeing all your assorted cats and dogs last month.  There were certainly some much loved friends on show.

This year we will be using a base colour (or allowing you to select your own) in any variation of that one colour you might like to use - light, dark, colour ranges just so long as we can tell it IS your monthly colour choice. Please follow the simple monthly criteria.

This month we thought we might try a slightly different colour from the norm.  We would truly love to see what you can do with this gorgeous, rich burgundy.

My name is Tanyah Payne and most people know me by Tan. I have been scrapbooking for over 20 years with a little break in between when we lost everything in the 2022 Floods, which I am forever grateful for so many in the scrapbooking communities for their generosity and kindness to help me get back on my feet and create again.

My style has changed over the years from 12 x 12 layouts to now a 8x10 to fit into bookcases better. I enjoy anything mixed media, layering and adding all types of textures and embellishments.
